My favorite places in Budapest as a local

I love Budapest so much and I always find myself feeling super proud when people ask me where I'm from while working abroad.
I'm so happy that our beautiful little capital city has been gaining more and more recognition over the years - that's actually why I thought about writing a quick post about my favorite places in Budapest as a local. Hopefully it's going to be helpful for anyone who is thinking about paying a visit to my lovely hometown.

1. GASTRONOMIE
Napfényes (vegan, very good price, this is i
Hanoi (Asian & Vietnamese restaurant, they have the most amazing hot pot!)
Isvtánffy Veggie Burger (vegan street food)
Vakvarjú (my dad loves this restaurant so I had to include it)
Bálna Bisztró (I really like the food & drinks here and the view is amazing)

2. GOING OUT
Ellátóház & Fogasház (I rarely go out when I'm back home but if I do these are the two places where I always have a good time, all kinds of music and a really good vibe)
Szimpla kert (it's a ruin that's usually filled with tourists but I think everyone should see it once if they're already visiting Budapest, they atmosphere is great there)

3. SIGHTSEEING/TAKING PHOTOS
Margaret Island (in the summer)
Parlament
Buda Castle
Fismerman's Bastion (Halászbástya)
St. Stephen's Basilica
Great Market Hall
New York Cafe
Citadella
(I think these are all the must see places you should check out no matter which season you're visiting the city, amazing views)

4. SHOPPING
Deák/Vörösmarty
Andrássy street
Aréna Plaza (this is one of the biggest shopping malls, it's great for shopping especially when it's cold outside. It also has an IMAX and a variety of great restaurants)

5. NATURE
Normafa
Libegő
Budakeszi
János-hegy
Füvészkert
(Hungary gets quite cold in the winter so I'd recommend you only going to these places if you're visiting in the summer. When the weather is nice these places are amazing for hiking and a little city escape.)
Have a nice trip everyone! :)
