So I didn't mean to get overly dramatic in the title but as being someone working in the model industry, maintaining a healthy and glowing skin is essential in order to look good on castings and for the clients to like you (or at least it's a great advantage for sure). However sometimes it requires a lot of work and effort and experimenting to find a daily skincare routine that fits this lifestyle.
I thought I'd share some of mine with you all because first of all they actually work and do make a huge difference even at the times when I'm getting a heavy make up on every single day (and retouched every two minutes with probably not the cleanest brushes) on set.
Here we go!
1. CLEAN YOUR BRUSHES AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE
I was always someone who took this very light-hearted and only after a few bad experiences (aka break-outs) learnt my lesson to 1. take my own brushes to every job I have 2. clean them right after and as often as possible in general.
2. REMOVE YOUR MAKE UP AS SOON AS YOU GET HOME
Or if you're like me literally the second you finish your job and already on your way home haha (having face wipes with you is a must). I know it can be annoying sometimes but trust me you're doing your skin a huge favor if you remove your make up as soon as possible and do your daily routine after.
3. STEAM YOUR FACE
People don't give enough credit to this beauty hack even though it makes such a huge difference! Not only does it open up your pores and deep cleanses your skin but it also releases stress and opens your sinuses which can prevent you from catching a cold etc.. I would also recommend putting on a face mask right after steaming so it gets absorbed into your skin better & it's gonna be super nice and soft the next day!
4. EXFOLIATE!
Super basic I know,  but it's something I actually avoided doing for a very long time. It obviously depends on your skin but don't overdo it, generally 2 max 3 times a week should be enough to get rid of the dead skin cells. Always follow up with a toner and a moisturizer after as it protects your skin and restores your skin's pH balance.
5. APPLY SUNSCREEN
Especially with summer and the crazy heat coming I would not leave the house without applying sunscreen anymore. It's so important yet so many people forget about it or simply just too lazy to put some on but trust me as someone having had a really unfortunate experience with getting badly sunburnt on my face under the strong Bali sunlight I'm still struggling with the milia it caused a few months ago.. so just do it!
6. WATER WATER WATER
Super basic number two but I can't even start to amplifying the importance of drinking enough water not only for the healthy condition of your skin but everything else in your body as well. There are so many tips online that can help you if you're not the biggest water drinker so I would recommend to look them up because it makes all the difference.
+ 7. ALOE VERA
I feel like people only start to bring up aloe vera once the damage is already done and they need help immediate help even though it's so beneficial for your skin. If you're like mine and prone to having milia or whiteheads, aloe vera is going to be your best friend from now on (alongside with Retinol!) as it helps fighting those little annoying white bumps so effectively.  I don't even have to mention its moisturizing effects and that it helps to keep your skin young looking and fresh. If you can't get the real deal so easily I would recommend trying products with aloe vera in them (face masks are scrubs are looove!).

Hope you guys found this post helpful, let me know if you have any other tips regarding skincare or beauty in general. Have a nice week everyone! :)
